About Me
Meet Tegan
Psychologist | Supervisor | Nature-Lover | Calm Space Creator
I’m Tegan, a registered psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting clients across all stages of life. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and English), an Honours degree in Psychology, and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), and I’m a board-approved supervisor for early career psychologists. I also bring leadership and management experience from team-based clinical settings.
Over the past ten years, I’ve worked in a range of settings - from community mental health and schools to private practice and domestic violence services - supporting children, adolescents and adults through both everyday challenges and more complex emotional terrain.
My Therapy Style
Clients often describe my approach as warm, calming and gently empowering. I bring empathy, curiosity and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. Therapy with me is client-centred and collaborative - we work together to explore what’s holding you back, build on your natural strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
I tailor sessions to each individual’s needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Play Therapy, and expressive and creative approaches. I also incorporate mindfulness, stress reduction, and strengths-based strategies into my work.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients with mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders (social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder), adjustment to change, stress management, PTSD and complex trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and self-harm or suicidal ideation. I tailor my approach to each client using a client-centred and compassionate framework.
Whether working with children, teens, or adults, I offer a safe, calming, and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I am gentle, respectful, and encouraging in my approach, and believe in the power of human resilience and connection to support healing and growth.
When I’m not in session, you’ll find me out in nature with my cavoodle Teddy, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
